Candlelight Christmas Eve Service

Celebrate all of the wonder of our Savior’s birth at our traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. Join us at 6:30PM on Monday, December 24 in the Sanctuary.

All monetary donations given during the offertory will go towards the United Methodist Children's Home.

*Nursery is unavailable for our Christmas Eve Service.

 


 

 

Random Acts of Kindness & Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 23

On December 23, we have two special celebrations: The Random Acts of Kindness, and the choir cantata
We start at 9:00AM in The Crossroads Center to prepare simple gifts of kindness & grace and write Christmas cards that we will deliver to first responders, local restaurants, and other locations where people will be working for Christmas. We’ll have refreshments and hot coffee to keep everyone's spirits bright as we serve together.

We'll wrap things up at 10:45, just in time for a special combined worship service featuring our choir’s Christmas Cantata, which begins at 11:00AM.

We’ll have nursery Care for ages 6 weeks to 4 years, beginning at 8:30AM. All other ages are welcome to join in the Acts of Kindness & Cantata.

Donations needed!
Our 3rd annual Acts of Kindness Day will be on December 23rd from 9 am - 10:30 am in the Crossroads Center. Join us for a festive time of fellowship & fun as we sign Christmas cards assemble simple Gifts of Grace and Kindness for those in our community who are working this holiday season. Projects & cards will be provided. YOU are needed for assembly, prayer & delivery!
If you would like to donate towards this community outreach, the following items are needed:
- Mini Candy Canes (individually wrapped)
- Skittles candy (individually wrapped, mini size)
- M&M's candy (individually wrapped, mini size)
- Microwave Popcorn (individually wrapped, any variety)
- Single Serving Snacks: Cookies, Pretzels, Crackers, etc. (individually wrapped)
- Soft Mints (individually wrapped)
- 4 boxes of Multi-colored Candy Canes (regular size)
- 2 boxes of Red & White Candy Canes (regular size)
- Hard Candy (any variety)
-Please be sure to bring a breakfast or brunch type item (muffins, breads, baked goods, or fruit) to share during our time of fellowship!

United Methodist Children's Home Christmas Donations

Due to the loss of our poinsettia supplier we are hoping that you would please consider a United Methodist Children’s Home donation this Christmas! This will be our sole Christmas campaign in lieu of the usual FUMC Poinsettia fundraiser. Envelopes are available at the entrance to each service. Make all checks out to FUMC with ‘Children’s Home’ in the memo line. Please use the envelope to record the amount of your donation and the names of anyone you wish to honor or memorialize. Honors and memorials will be listed in the Cantata bulletin on Sunday, Dec 23. 

We appreciate your understanding, and hope that this year’s  Christmas campaign will be one of great meaning to you and to the children that your donations will bless.

 

Family Advent Celebration Saturday, Dec 8

Everyone is welcome to our Family Advent Celebration on Saturday, Dec 8 from 10:00-11:30AM in The Crossroads Center Youth Room!

We want this to be a family event and parents (or responsible adult) are expected to stay with their child.

Coffee, Hot Chocolate Bar & Snacks provided.

Activities to include: Photo Booth Opportunity (families are invited to take their own photo - we will not man the booth or print photos), Christmas Sing-a-Long, Story Time & Gingerbread House Decorating.

We’re asking for donations of Graham Crackers (plain), Candies (m&m's, gumdrops, candy canes, red hots, pretzel sticks, hard candies, etc) and Icing. These can be brought to the church office or dropped off to April Hight by December 5th.

No cost. No age limit. Ages 0 - 100!

United Methodist Men's Christmas Party Tickets on sale NOW!

The hottest ticket in town only costs $10 per person, so come into the office or see any UMM member to purchase your tickets! Last days to purchase tickets will be Monday, Dec 3.

The party will be held in the FUMC Fellowship Hall on Monday, Dec. 10 at 6:00PM. Price includes a catered meal by Uncle Bill’s, a Christmas hymn-sing, and a Christmas devotional by Pastor Michael.

Everyone is invited and it promises to be a blessed time of fellowship.

Children's Ministry Schedule Changes for December & January

Sunday Mornings:

Please make note of these upcoming ‘Family Worship Sunday’ Kid's Street changes for the holiday season.

On Sunday, December 23rd (Family Acts of Kindness & Cantata), December 30th and January 6th, there will be NO regularly scheduled Children's Sunday School (@ 9:45 am) and Chapel (@ 11 am) for ages K5 - 5th grade. Children are invited to attend worship with their family. Nursery will be available as usual from 8:30 am - 12:15 pm for ages 6 weeks to 4 years.

Wednesday Evenings:

Regular Wednesday Night Kid’s Street Activities, Nursery & Adult Study Groups will be on holiday break beginning Wednesday, November 21st through January 2nd. 

We will kick-off a new year of ministry on January 9th with our CommUNITY Dinner & Study Group Book Fair (5 pm – 6:15 pm) and Kid’s Street Activities & Nursery (6 – 7:30). 

Regularly scheduled Wednesday Night Adult Study Groups, Children’s Activities & Nursery will resume on January 16th from 6 – 7:30 pm.

FUMC Christmas Gift Drop-Off Sunday, Dec 9

Christmas will be here before you know it.  For many families who are struggling to keep a roof over their heads and the utilities on, it will be another day of struggling and hardship.  

If you or your Sunday school class or small group would like to  share your blessings by adopting a child for Christmas through our Benevolence Ministry, please contact the front office at 682-2018, or see our Benevolence Team (Vicky Anchor or Tim Poole) to sign up. 

Gifts can be dropped off Sunday, Dec 9 from 9:00AM-12:30PM in The Crossroads Center.
