God’s Word and Me: Growing in the Bible, Led by Pastor Ronnie Bearden: This study is all about the Bible itself. The primary purposes of the class are a) to understand and grow in love with God’s Word and b) to learn to use God’s Word that I may grow in faith. We will look at the following issues: Choosing a translation, How is the Bible organized, using an exhaustive concordance, Bibles in devotional life, smart phone/tablet apps, How did we get from the original document to the Bible in our hands, how books were chosen to be in the Bible, the nature of the Bible, and how can I use it to grow in my faith? The only required textbook for the class will be a Bible, but many tools and reference works will be explored. We hope every church member and visitor will go
through this study as we consider this class to be part of the basic Discipleship of our church. It has been taught before and people may take it again if they like. Crossroads Center/Asbury Room

Life Lessons from Ezra & Nehemiah by Max Lucado Led by Susan Hill: When the people of Israel returned to Jerusalem after their exile in Babylon, they found the city laid waste, the temple destroyed, and their way of life obliterated. Out of the ashes of this devastation, two leaders emerged to restore the foundations of their worship and their city. Ezra, the first to return, set out to restore true worship in Jerusalem by reminding the people of God’s teaching, what it meant for them, and how it should shape their lives. Nehemiah, the next to arrive, exchanged his royal cupbearer's robes for coveralls and got to work rebuilding the wall. The project took twelve years and was an uphill battle all the way. The efforts of these men reveal just how much God can accomplish in our lives when we follow where he leads. Crossroads Center/Rm 402

Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament led by Jody Woodward: There are thousands of Old Testament references found in the New Testament. They occur in the form of quotations or paraphrases, allusions, and echoes. They help us see how the fabric of Scripture is woven into a tightly coherent body of themes. After his resurrection, Jesus told his disciples “that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled” (Luke 24:44).This workbook attempts to explore these Old Testament pictures of the Messiah. Students must look beyond the immediate context of the Old Testament story and look at the larger context of Scripture. This larger view helps us better appreciate the person and work of Jesus Christ. This is a class for young adults ages 18 to 28 years old. Crossroads Center/Rm 403
