Disaster Relief Opportunities in August and September 2019

DgzygC9WsAAXKdN.jpg

(1) There is a list of at least 136 roofs that have still not been repaired in our neighbors to the east in the Marianna district and thus they need to be re-tarped. As this re-tarping is not taking place during the "relief" stage, some of the mandatory training requirements rules for FEMA and UMCOR are relaxed, so we are inviting folks that want to help, but have not-yet-been-trained to help out. More info on exactly when & where this re-tarping will take place is being worked right now. Folks at the district and conference level are working on obtaining the materials and supplies for the effort that may start as early as this upcoming weekend August 10-11, 2019 !!

(2) Connecting Neighbors Workshops is all about disaster preparedness and also helping our most vulnerable neighbors. Since we're in the Pensacola district, our workshop is scheduled for September 7 at Navarre UMC:

(3) There are two more Basic Early Response Training (ERT) classes scheduled for the near term at Shalimar UMC on August 17 and Perdido Bay UMC on September 14:
