Our Beliefs

For over 100 years, our congregation has been sharing the love of God and lifting up Jesus as the hope of the world in Crestview, FL. We are a Global Methodist Church, sharing the same core beliefs and structure as Global Methodist congregations all over the world.

We stand solidly on the Bible which is the Word of God. As such, we stand in the core of historic Christian faith as expressed through the centuries. For example, we eagerly affirm our faith as expressed in the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed.   For those who wish to delve deeper into statements of faith, you may find them here: https://globalmethodist.org/what-we-believe/

In short, we affirm: The Trinity- worshiping one God in three persons. Jesus is fully God and fully human- the mystery of the incarnation, sinless God in human flesh.

People are fallen, sinful, and desperately in need of a Savior. The penalty for our sin and rebellion is separation from God for eternity. No one is good enough to earn a place in Heaven.

The work of salvation is a gift and was accomplished once for all time by Jesus on the cross as His blood was spilled to pay for sins. Salvation is thus found in no one else and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus.

By the grace of God, though fallen, we have been given free will and may choose to accept or reject God’s free gift of salvation. God loves all people and desires all to be saved. Thus the invitation is for all who will turn away from their sin and turn to a loving savior. Many Bible words describe the transformation which happens in a human heart surrendered to Jesus: born again, saved, justified, converted.

The Holy Spirit was powerfully given to the people of God and thus birthed the Church- the Body of Christ. As part of the Body of Christ, we see that we are a part of a group, the people of God. We are called to be connected.

All Christians are called to know and love the Lord our God and then to live out that love in service to others. The Bible knows of no such thing as private faith. God calls His people to experience a transformation of our lives. We are called to live holy lives which express and live out the truths of God’s Kingdom.

Our Mission

Lead people to Jesus through God’s Word and equip them for discipleship.

(Ephesians 2:8-9—God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.)

Our Values

Scriptural: We believe the Bible is the Word of God and that God still speaks to His people through Scripture.

Compassionate: We listen to and care for each person according to their need.

Loving: Our calling is to love others as Christ has loved us.

Joyful: We cultivate optimism, happiness and gratitude based on our relationship with God and not on circumstance.

Hospitable: Our desire is to create a faith community where new people are warmly invited to know Christ and become a part of what He is doing here.
