Once again the UMM is hosting a church wide chili cook off contest. We are looking for those great recipes in our congregation. Last year we had 15 entries from which our congregation got to sample the many great tastes and unique recipes. The event will be Sunday November 10th located in the Crossroads Center in the Youth Room. We will have tables set up for you to sample all the recipes and carry outs will be available. This is an opportunity for us to come together church wide to support our youth. We need YOU to bring your crock pot favorite recipe and we need EVERYONE to come by to taste and to GIVE generously to the donation box. ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to our youth programs.
How to Participate.
We will begin to set up at 8:00 in the Youth Room at the Crossroads Center. This will allow our 8:30 service members to set up their entries before their service begins. We encourage everyone else to drop off their entries as they arrive before their worship service or small group meets. All entries should be dropped off before the 11:00 hour, as the judging will start at 11:00. The top three entries will be contacted and the winners will be announced at our Community Dinner on November 13th. We will begin clean up at 12:45 so we encourage our 11:00 member to come and join in the sampling at the end of their service.
A Donation Box will be located in the Youth Room for the taste testing (No Minimum, but Please Give Generously). Tables and chairs will be available for your convenience. We encourage you to take your time and have Fellowship time with one another. Take out chili will be available.

A Benevolence Christmas CommUNITY Dinner on Wed, November 13

child and gift.jpg

Our next CommUNITY Dinner, Wednesday, Nov 13, will be a special time of celebrating AND supporting our FUMC Benevolence Ministry's Christmas Program!
Angel Tree- we will have a Christmas tree in the foyer of The Crossroads Center with angel tags containing a child's info on it and 3 gift ideas. If you would like to donate a monetary amount to go towards child’s gift instead of picking an angel, we will also gratefully accept those. What a beautiful way to sponsor a child for Christmas! (We will be accepting gift drop-offs in the Cafe area of The Crossroads Center between services on TWO SUNDAYS: Dec 1 and Dec 8.)

We will also have a canned food drive for the Thanksgiving food boxes that will be distributed by the Benevolence Ministry. A wagon will be placed at the entrance to the CommUNITY Dinner to collect your donations.

Our menu will be a full holiday feast of roast turkey, potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, veggies, and roll. A donation box will be available to help offset the cost of the meal. All proceeds from the meal will go towards the Benevolence Ministry and our Christmas program. Serving begins at 5:30PM.

Disaster Relief Re-Tarp Day Is RESCHEDULED for Saturday, Oct 26

Disaster Relief Re-Tarp Day for Wewa Planned ***RESCHEDULED!!!*** from Sat Oct 19 TO Sat Oct 26
A word from Pastor Ronnie:
"Ron Toole just called me to tell me that we're now under a tropical storm warning for Friday and Saturday and thus we're postponing the retarping until the next Saturday, October 26, 2019. Hopefully this new date works out for you all. I'll let you know, when I know, if anything else changes." - Pastor Ronnie

An opportunity to help our neighbors to the east has presented itself.
