Dear Church Family,
Through this COVID crisis of the past year, our church leaders have tried to follow a balanced path in creating COVID policies which contribute to a safer worship environment, but not so restrictive as to hinder those who wish to come.
We know that in all the events and functions we have offered, people within our congregation made the best decisions for themselves. Some felt like they could and wanted to participate, while others were not ready.
With all this in mind, our Long Range Planning Committee, responsible for COVID policies, has approved hosting a special modified Community Dinner for a Thanksgiving Celebration on November 18 from 5-6:15 pm in the Crossroads Center.
The regular Administrative Council meeting for that night will be a separate event held in the Main Sanctuary at 6:30 pm. Thus, those who do not feel comfortable coming to a meal may still attend the meeting.
What to Expect:
Make a reservation for the meal with the church office so we may better plan attendance: 850-682-2018 or email: office.fumcrestview@gmail.com. You may also notate your grace note on Sunday morning.
All food will be provided. Church members should not bring food from home. The United Methodist Men will provide the meal (with helpers) in a manner similar to how we have been doing soup kitchen safely for months (gloves, masks, restricted kitchen access, etc).
All enter through the main door in the front.
Seating limited to 5 per table unless a family has more. Tables will be spread out. Tables will be numbered and filled alternately (table 1, 3, 5 skipping a table until needed).
Two rooms will be available. The larger Wesley Hall will follow the same guidelines as worship (social distancing, masks strongly encouraged).
The second room (Youth Room) will be a mask only room (except while you eat of course). You must wear a mask if you enter this room.
You will be served. You will remain at your table and food will be brought to you. This will prevent lines of people and the possibility of multiple people handling utensils (like getting ice).
Helpers will remove your trash.
Our leaders know that many restaurants have been back in operation for some time (and many of our members are eating out). We feel like we can host this meal with the same, or better, standards as many of our restaurants.
We are trusting our members to make the best decision for themselves. Not all can or should attend this meal. We support whatever decision each person needs to make and pray that all will be supportive and understanding of each person’s decision.
